I recently opened a blank brand board for a local artisan bakery looking for a fresh visual identity. The brief asked for something warm, approachable, and handcrafted — a perfect opportunity to test Maffis. As a light and charming handwritten font, Maffis brought a soft, personal touch to the logo draft and packaging mockups. The client wanted to feel like each product was made with care, and Maffis helped communicate that authenticity without overcomplicating the design.
Maffis in Logo Design and Brand Identity
When I placed Maffis on the bakery’s logo concept, it immediately gave the identity a friendly, boutique feel. The font’s script handwritten style has a natural flow that mimics real handwriting, but with just enough refinement to work in a professional setting. It’s not overly decorative like some other script fonts, which makes it versatile for small business branding. For web use, I made sure to check if Maffis came with webfont licensing — which it did — so I could safely implement it in the site’s CSS without legal concerns.
Pairing Maffis with Supporting Fonts

It also struggles in small sizes, so business cards with fine print or technical packaging should avoid using it beyond a signature or accent line. Always test Maffis in your final design context before committing — especially if the font will be used across multiple platforms or printed materials.

From a design assets perspective, Maffis delivers a solid package. It includes standard ligatures and stylistic alternates that allow for subtle customization.
